Limachain's Genesis
Limachain is a startup that provides data-driven agriculture solutions to smallholder farmers in developing countries. We believe that data-driven agriculture is the key to unlocking sustainable production practices, and we're working to give farmers tools they need through building the data frontier in agriculture. Our platform is tailored to smallholder farmers so that they can access the best technology can offer without the struggle that comes with embracing it.
We are addressing issues like post-harvest losses, low crop yield, lack of inputs and unsustainable farm practices through a data-driven marketplace, an on-demand input sourcing service and crop profiles that give farmers information on best practices and crop growth cycles.

Kenya's low-income rural communities depend on agriculture for food and income, but yield is not improving until now. Solving this challenge through data-driven agriculture is our mission.
Zero Hunger
Through our precision agriculture technologies, crop yield is able to increase leaving farmers with enough food for subsistence, to supply the community and to also sell the excess for income.
Decent Work and Economic Growth
The youth flocking to urban areas don't consider farming decent due to the manual work involved and low penetration of tech. We aim to shift this view through our platform by leveraging the best technology has to offer to make farming a go to option with ease of operation.
Climate Action
Through data-driven practices we aim to reduce farmers' dependability on fertilizers which contribute to greenhouse gas emissions and enable them to adopt sustainable climate-friendly practices.
